Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

This policy explains what TorrentSwap processes when you visit the website, request a quote, create or track a swap, connect a wallet, or contact support. TorrentSwap never holds your funds and does not offer accounts.

2. Information processed to run a swap

When you request a quote or create a swap, we process:

• the assets, networks and amount you select;
• the destination address that should receive the swapped asset and the refund address on the source network;
• the deposit address, quote reference, protected minimum and expiry created for your swap;
• the status of the swap and the public transaction hashes of the deposit, payout or refund.

We use this only to quote, execute, track and support your swap, and to detect abuse of the service. We do not ask for your name, email or identity documents as part of a swap.

3. Who receives swap information

A cross-chain swap cannot run without sharing the details above with the parties that execute it:

• The executing protocol you choose on the quote — currently Chainflip, NEAR Intents or Flashnet — receives the assets, amount, destination address and refund address so it can create your deposit address, execute the swap, pay out or refund, and report status. Each protocol applies its own terms, privacy practices and compliance screening, for example against sanctioned addresses.
• Our routing infrastructure provider, which TorrentSwap uses to request quotes from those protocols and to create and track deposit channels, receives the same swap details for the same purposes.
• Public blockchains record your deposit and the payout or refund permanently. Anyone can see those transactions, including the addresses and amounts involved.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share swap details with advertisers.

4. Optional wallet connection

You can always copy the deposit address into your own wallet. If you choose to connect a wallet instead, TorrentSwap reads the wallet's public address and network so it can fill in your address and ask the wallet to send one exact transfer to the deposit address. The transfer happens only if you approve it in your wallet.

TorrentSwap never receives your private keys or seed phrase and does not request token approvals or message signatures. If you connect through WalletConnect, its relay service processes the connection under its own terms.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage, such as which pages are visited. It is configured with consent mode set to denied for analytics and advertising storage and with client-side storage turned off, so it does not set analytics cookies or store an identifier in your browser. Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled.

Google still receives the page request, including your IP address, as part of delivering the measurement, and processes it under its own terms. We see only aggregated reports.

6. Help assistant

The Help button opens TorrentSwap's own automated assistant; no third-party chat service is loaded. Messages you type are sent to our server only to produce a reply and are not stored or logged. Text that looks like a recovery phrase is blocked in your browser and never sent, and long codes that could be private keys or transaction hashes are removed before sending. If AI replies are enabled, your message (with those codes removed) and the recent conversation are processed by our AI provider to generate the answer. If you paste an order ID, the assistant looks up that order's status. Please do not share seed phrases, private keys or passwords — we will never ask for them.

7. Hosting, security logs and browser storage

Our hosting provider processes standard request data, such as IP address, user agent and time of request, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. These logs are kept only as long as needed for operation and security.

TorrentSwap does not set tracking cookies. The swap interface uses your browser's local storage to restore an active swap if you close the tab: it keeps an encrypted swap reference with the selected assets, quoted amounts, deposit, destination and refund addresses, deadline and last known status. At most five swaps are kept, records older than seven days are removed the next time the page reads them, and you can clear them sooner by clearing a swap or your browser storage.

The administrative area uses a session cookie for signed-in staff only.

8. Retention

• Swap details held on TorrentSwap servers are limited to what is needed to track and support a swap, and are kept only as long as that, and handling any dispute or abuse report, requires.
• Support conversations are kept to answer your request and keep a record of the help given.
• Aggregate analytics are kept according to the configured retention of the analytics property.
• On-chain data cannot be deleted by anyone, because public ledgers are permanent by design.

9. Legal requests

We may disclose information we hold if required by law or by a valid request from a competent authority. We review each request and disclose only what is required. Because we hold no accounts or identity documents, the information available is limited to the swap details described above.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal information we hold, and to object to it. Because swaps are not tied to an account, we may need the swap reference or transaction hash to find the relevant record. We cannot change or remove information recorded on a blockchain.

You can use TorrentSwap without connecting a wallet and without opening the chat, and you can clear the swap data stored in your browser at any time.

11. Children

TorrentSwap is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process information about children.

12. International processing

The protocols, infrastructure and service providers described above operate in several countries, so information may be processed outside your own. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

13. Changes

When this policy changes, we update it on this page and change the date above.
