What “no KYC” means here
KYC (know your customer) is the identity check that custodial exchanges run before they let you trade: name, date of birth, a photo of your ID, sometimes proof of address. Exchanges that hold customer balances are generally required to do it.
TorrentSwap does not hold balances or custody funds, so there is no account to open and nothing to verify with us. You never upload documents, create a password or link an email to a swap.
- No account, sign-up or email
- No ID or selfie upload
- No deposit balance held by TorrentSwap
- Your coins go straight to the address you choose
What still applies
No-KYC is not the same as anonymous. Every deposit and payout is a public blockchain transaction that anyone can look up. The executing protocols also screen addresses against sanctions lists and can refuse or refund a swap that involves a flagged address.
If you send from, or receive to, an account at a centralised exchange, that exchange already knows who you are. For the most privacy, use self-custody wallets on both sides.
How a swap works without an account
1. Choose what you send and what you want back. Live quotes from every protocol that can fill the swap appear in seconds, ranked by what you receive after fees.
2. Pick a route and enter your receiving address and a refund address on the network you send from.
3. Send the exact amount to the one-time deposit address shown, from any wallet or exchange — or connect a wallet and approve a single transfer.
4. Follow progress on the tracking screen. If the protocol cannot meet your minimum, the deposit is refunded to your refund address.
How this differs from instant exchangers
Many “no-KYC” instant exchangers take custody of your deposit on their own platform and can pause a swap to request identity documents under their risk rules. On TorrentSwap your deposit goes to the protocol named on the route, which settles the swap on-chain and pays out to your address.
Compare that with a centralised exchange, where you deposit into an account, trade inside the platform and withdraw later — every step tied to a verified identity.
Best no-KYC crypto exchanges and swaps compared (2026)
“No KYC” covers very different services. The useful questions are who holds your deposit while the swap runs, whether a swap can be paused for identity checks, whether you need a wallet that can add extra data to the deposit, and how the fee is shown.
- TorrentSwap: no account; compares NEAR Intents, THORChain, Chainflip, Flashnet and Pact Swap; the named protocol holds the deposit only while it settles; plain transfer from any wallet or exchange; all fees included in the quote
- THORChain / THORSwap: decentralised and no account; deep native-asset pools; deposits usually carry a memo, so you need a wallet that supports THORChain rather than an exchange withdrawal
- Instant exchangers (ChangeNOW, FixedFloat, SimpleSwap and similar): no account for most swaps; the service itself takes custody of your deposit and its terms let it hold a transaction for verification; the fee is built into the rate
- SideShift: no account; custodial like the instant exchangers; not available in some countries, including the United States
- Peer-to-peer and order-book DEXs (for example Bisq or same-chain DEXs): no account, but you need the asset on the right chain first and liquidity varies by pair
- Centralised exchanges: full KYC before you can deposit, trade or withdraw
What a no-KYC swap costs
Every fee is already taken out of the amount you see: the platform fee, the protocol’s fee and network fees, and the swap box shows the total fees so you can check them. Nothing is added after you send.
When you compare services, compare the amount you receive for the same input, not the advertised rate. A “zero fee” service still earns through the rate.
