SimpleSwap alternative: compare live cross-chain routes without an account

SimpleSwap (simpleswap.io), running since 2018, now describes itself as a multi-source swap aggregator routing across 20+ exchange and DEX liquidity sources. It claims 2,800+ coins including Monero, offers fiat through third-party providers, and runs an account-based loyalty program with 5 to 20% fee discounts.

Two things make people look elsewhere: its terms list the US, the UK and every EU member state among places where it may not be available, and recovering funds frozen during a compliance review costs 1% with a $100 minimum.

Verification and frozen funds

SimpleSwap's AML policy lets it require KYC on any transaction based on its own risk assessment, including ID, a live selfie check and source-of-funds documents. A flagged order shows a 'Verifying' status and can be frozen during review; getting frozen funds back requires proof of identity and ownership plus the 1% return fee (minimum $100). Its terms do not name the legal entity that operates the service.

TorrentSwap has no account and holds no funds, so it has nothing to freeze. Each route's protocol screens addresses itself and, if it cannot complete a swap, refunds to your refund address.

Pricing and limits

SimpleSwap shows an all-in rate without a separate fee line; its FAQ says the dynamic fee may start from 0.2% for some assets. Fixed rates hold for 20 minutes if the deposit gets one confirmation. Deposits below the minimum are not eligible for refund, and refund requests can take up to 31 days.

TorrentSwap shows the total fees in the swap box and tells you each route's minimum and maximum before you send, so an under-minimum deposit is avoidable.

Both aggregate: what is different

SimpleSwap aggregates exchange liquidity behind its own deposit address. TorrentSwap aggregates open cross-chain protocols and tells you which one executes your swap, so the deposit goes to that protocol rather than to an intermediary.

  • No account at any point: no email, no ID upload, no sign-up flow to fall back on
  • Every quote names the protocol that executes it (NEAR Intents, Chainflip or Flashnet), ranked by what you receive
  • All fees already included in the amount shown, with the total displayed before you confirm
  • 39 assets on 17 networks, native coins only (no wrapped IOUs); no Monero and no fiat
  • If a protocol cannot meet your minimum, the deposit is refunded to the refund address you entered

When SimpleSwap may fit better

If you need Monero, a fiat purchase, an obscure token from its 2,800+ list, or loyalty discounts for frequent swaps, SimpleSwap offers them. For native assets TorrentSwap supports, compare the received amount for the same input.
