What is Pact Swap? How Pact Swap swaps work

Cross-chain DEX for native BTC, ETH and more.

How Pact Swap trades native BTC, DOGE, LTC and EVM coins wallet to wallet, backed by maker collateral instead of a bridge, and how TorrentSwap offers it.

Typical time
As fast as the two chains confirm: a few minutes between EVM chains, about 10 minutes or more when Bitcoin is paid out.
How your deposit is held
Sent from your own wallet to the protocol's contract, which settles the swap.

How a Pact Swap swap works

  1. 01On TorrentSwap you connect a wallet on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain or Polygon and sign one transaction for the quoted amount.
  2. 02A market maker who has locked collateral worth twice the order is matched to your swap and receives your coins on the source chain.
  3. 03The market maker sends the asset you asked for to your address. If it fails to deliver in time, its collateral is paid to you instead.

Pact Swap in one paragraph

Pact Swap is a cross-chain exchange built on Coinweb that swaps native assets such as BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, BNB and TRX directly between wallets, without bridges or wrapped tokens. It went into live production in May 2025 with a trading cap, and added Dogecoin and Polygon in September 2025. Its documentation lists Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Tron, Arbitrum and Base as live, with Solana planned. Pact Swap Labs develops the protocol; its listed founders include Brock Pierce and Coinweb co-founder Toby Gilbert.

How it works without a bridge

Instead of pooling funds in a vault, Pact Swap matches you with a market maker who has locked collateral worth twice the order in a Coinweb smart contract. You send the source asset to the market maker on the source chain and the market maker sends the destination asset to you. Coinweb contracts read both blockchains directly to confirm each leg. If the market maker delivers, its collateral is released; if it does not deliver in time, the PACT (Penalty Adjudication for Cross-chain Transactions) gives the collateral to you.

What a Pact Swap trade costs

Pact Swap takes a 0.1% protocol fee, paid in Coinweb's CWEB token from the market maker's collateral. You also pay normal gas on the source chain, and the market maker's margin is built into the quote. On TorrentSwap all of it, and every other fee, is already inside the amount shown.

Security and track record

Risk is limited per trade by the 2x collateral rather than by a shared vault, which removes the bridge and validator custody that most cross-chain exploits target. On the other hand we found no published audit or bug bounty, much of the press coverage is sponsored, and some documentation pages are still marked as in progress. We found no reported exploits or halts as of 22 October 2026.

Tips for Pact Swap routes

From Pact Swap's documentation:

  • Token sends from ERC-20 or BEP-20 balances may need a one-time approval before the swap transaction
  • Bitcoin payouts wait for a block, about 10 minutes on average and longer when fees spike
  • Double-check the destination address: it is where the market maker pays out
  • On TorrentSwap the order amount and recipient come from a fresh quote and are checked before you sign

Where it shines

  • No bridge, vault or wrapped token: funds move wallet to wallet on each chain.
  • Each order is backed by market-maker collateral worth twice its size.
  • Pays out native Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Litecoin from EVM chains.

Trade-offs

  • On TorrentSwap it needs a connected EVM wallet; sending BTC into Pact Swap is not offered here yet.
  • A young protocol: we found no public audit, and parts of its documentation are marked as in progress.

Availability changes with liquidity. The live quote is always the source of truth: if Pact Swap can fill your swap, it appears in the route list with its exact output.

Pact Swap: common questions

What is Pact Swap?

A cross-chain exchange built on Coinweb that swaps native assets such as BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, BNB and TRX directly between wallets, without bridges or wrapped tokens.

How does Pact Swap work without a bridge?

Market makers lock collateral worth twice the trade. You send funds to the maker, the maker sends the other asset to you, and Coinweb contracts watch both chains. If the maker fails to pay, its collateral goes to you.

What fees does Pact Swap charge?

A 0.1% protocol fee paid from the maker's collateral, plus network gas and the maker's margin in the quote. On TorrentSwap all of it, and every other fee, is already in the amount shown.

Is Pact Swap safe?

Each trade is backed by 2x collateral and there is no shared vault or bridge to attack. We found no public audit, and no reported exploits as of October 2026.

How fast is Pact Swap?

As fast as the two chains confirm. EVM legs take seconds to minutes; Bitcoin payouts take about 10 minutes per block on average.
